Now what's this? A star amongst unknowns? Surely Shaun Scott does not spend his weekends making low budget films? Well, no, of course not. Just one weekend - one, glorious weekend in October 2007, when Shivilenco managed to tempt one of television's best known faces to make the trip from London to appear in one of our humble efforts. We were all quite pleased by this development - can you tell?
Most famous for his roles as D.I. Chris Deakin in The Bill (1994-2000) and Jack Fairchild in Brass (1983-1990), Shaun Scott boasts a weighty television and theatre C.V. dating back three decades. When it was decided that Shivilenco's debut feature film, Jimmy Wilde, could benefit from a cameo or two, it was not long before Paul Faulkner was badgering Colin to allow him to approach one of his favourite actors. As is often the case, Paul was humoured at this stage - after all, it would never happen, would it?
When it did happen, Paul F's jaw nearly had to be rewired as it hit the floor with disbelief and delight. Meanwhile, we all had to come to terms with the fact that we would be working with a well-known and respected actor, rather than friends and associates. We need not have worried. Shaun's disarming and engaing nature soon put everybody at ease and the resulting scene is eagerly anticipated as the opening proper of Jimmy Wilde.
Shaun's appearance has given a huge boost to the whole project, as the realisation rapidly dawned that every aspect of Jimmy Wilde was going to have to live up to the high standard that he had helped us to set.
